Grandma
I talked to my grandmother for a while on the subject of religion. I don't know what to do. She says she believes anything is possible. She hopes more than anything that there is a place after death where she will be reunited with her husband.
Isn't that the best definition of Heaven? A place where you can live forever in peace and harmony with your loved ones and God.
My friend Ryan pointed out that if that's heaven, then why would a soul have to wait for their family to arrive? Wouldn't it be painful and imperfect if you got to Heaven and had to wait years for your husband/wife and vice versa?
But he also had a solution to this conundrum. He said that there's no reason for time to work the same way in Heaven as it does on Earth, and so we all get there at roughly the same time- instantly reunited with our families! Since I've been reading a little bit about theories of non-linear time, it almost makes sense to me.
I don't know how to reach my grandmother though. She thinks there might be a Heaven. She hopes to be with her husband. But she needs to accept Jesus into her heart and be saved! And time is running out!!!
This is really vexing me. I'm not sure what to do. She won't listen when I start reading the Bible to her. She feels that she's too old to be saved, too set in her ways, and doesn't realize how important Jesus is! She thinks that if she just sits there and does nothing, her prayers will be answered.
I'm getting really frustrated. Help! I'm praying that the Lord will send me some idea of what to do.

"and we were sealed according to our deeds,
joy joy for i was received"

Lord God, I lift up "Grandma" to you. She is fearfully and wonderfully made. You love her so much. Lord, please open the door to her heart. Use Pete to share the good news that she too is elegible for salvation. Just like the old woman who touched the hem of Jesus' cloak and was healed. She wasn't too old. Lord I praise you and thank you for the work you are doing in Pete and through Pete. It is your perfect will that "Grandma is saved" for you say in your word (2Peter 3:9) that you are patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentence. You also say in your word (Matthew 18:19-20 ) " again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
Knowing this, we thank you for the salvation of "Grandma" We know you will do it, for you have given us your word.
In Jesus name,
amen
(Miche)
I will pray for her every day, before anything else, before any other humble request I make to the Lord! And I can only wish that others who read this will include a small mention of the soul of my Grandma (Suzanne) in their prayers as well.
